Momentum acts as Introducing Broker to Credit Agricole Cheuvreux pursuant to a contract with Crédit Agricole Cheuvreux North America Inc. ("Cheuvreux"). Institutional DVP/RVP accounts that Momentum services on the execution side of the business are referred to and opened in the books of Cheuvreux, an SEC registered broker/dealer and FINRA member. Momentum does not currently refer Institutional DVP/RVP accounts to broker/dealers other than Cheuvreux.
The orders for all clients we have introduced to Cheuvreux ("Momentum Introduced clients") are executed by one of Cheuvreux' affiliates in the worldwide Crédit Agricole S.A. Group (Euronext: ACA), or in certain smaller markets, by contractual counterparties of Cheuvreux' affiliates. These affiliates of Cheuvreux include, in the United States, Crédit Agricole Securities (USA) Inc., also an SEC-registered broker/dealer and FINRA member, and overseas, Crédit Agricole Cheuvreux S.A. and other regulated affiliated entities. This provides Momentum introduced clients with the comfort of knowing that Cheuvreux and affiliated agency broker/dealers within the Crédit Agricole Group, a substantial global financial institution, are responsible for executing their orders.
Crédit Agricole S.A. itself is France's largest retail bank, and it is also the eighth largest bank world-wide in terms of Tier 1 capital. It is rated AA- and Aa1 by Standard & Poor;'s and Moody's, respectively. Crédit Agricole has in excess of 21 million clients, and a presence in over 60 countries. A portion of the commissions earned by Cheuvreux from Momentum Introduced clients is rebated to Momentum Trading Partners.
Momentum Trading Partners (MTP) was created in 2008 by Lionel Mellul & Marcos Pagani. Prior to building their own franchise, the two partners were among top producers at various U.S IDBs (Inter-dealer brokers) on the Institutional Equity Desks. MTP is a private company owned by its founders and a few key members of its team.
